Alma Pixel

The Alma Pixel CO2 offers advanced technology with great versatility for a variety of aesthetic procedures

CO2 or carbon dioxide is well known within the aesthetic arena and laser market to offer a variety of age-defying treatments. Its benefits are well known in skin conditions such as

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine Lines
  • Photo-damage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Skin laxity
  • Scarring
  • Skin tags
  • benign tumours
  • Much more

By using the power of CO2 and its properties of ablation and thermal effects a variety of conditions can be successfully treated. The Alma Pixel CO2 also utilises and array of handpieces and treatment modes for high precision treatments.

The Alma Pixel CO2 can be used for

  • Char-free tissue ablation
  • Vaporization
  • Excision
  • Incision
  • Coagulation

It also allows the uses the ability to control depth of ablation and thermal damage via the pulse duration and mode of energy delivery maximising precision and minimising adverse reactions.

The Alma Pixel CO2 laser uses carbon dioxide at 10,600nm wavelength. This wavelength is ideal for collagen regeneration and a great choice for treating a variety of aesthetic conditions. The Alma pIxel CO2 also has a fractional mode as well as non- fractional.

Modes of use

Continuous wave - This emits one pulse of continuous energy and is generally used for excision and cutting
Single pulse - One pulse of energy
Repeat pulse - Either short or long pulse at varying repetition speeds
Super pulse - High peak power with short pulse width. This enable deep penetration with minimal thermal damage.
Fractional laser - Fractional treatments are very different to full resurfacing methods which are a lot more aggressive. In a fractional pulse delivery, small perforations are created in the skin with the surrounding tissue intact.

This preservation of the tissue around the laser sites causes faster healing whilst promoting acceleration of new collagen  and regeneration of existing.
Fractional treatments also help reduce side effects such as:
  • Hypo-pigmentation
  • Scarring
  • Post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation
  • Infection
  • Persistent erythema
