Nd:YAG 1064nm laser allows the laser energy it to penetrate deeper into the skin to effectively target the melanin in hair follicles. This makes it especially good for darker skins and coarser hair. The laser energy absorbed causes heat to damage the hair follicle responsible for growth whilst protecting the epidermal layer. This process means the hair follicle no longer produces new hair hair.
