Laser Training

The number of laser and aesthetic procedure are increasing year and after year. Medical lasers no matter what the application allow high levels of precision to the people using them with less damage on surrounding tissues.

Benefits of lasers include if used correctly can mean:

  • Less pain than alternative treatments
  • Less scarring than alternative treatments
  • faster recovery

In general a laser treatment is less invasive and more effective now than other conventional treatments hence the rapid growth. This is couple with the fact that many lasers treatments treat conditions related to age. So as the population is ever ageing the opportunity for lasers grows further. With this the competition grows with it making it vital you have

  • Correct CE marked equipment
  • Correct training

Overall, the world market for lasers, consumables and maintenance is around 3 billion in 201

This increase in lasers and laser/IPL treatments has also increased the dangers associated with treatments making correct training even more vital.

Laser has a vast number of treatments in the aesthetic industry alone such as

  • Laser hair removal
  • LAser tattoo removal
  • Skin resurfacing
  • Gynaecology treatments
  • Scarring
  • Vascular
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • plus many more

The demand for these treatments has meant more and more types of business are looking at offering the treatments such as:

  • GP’s
  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Dentists
  • Aestheticians
  • Beauticians

But are they qualified to offer these treatments? are they trained to the correct level? are the on the correct register? and are they safe?  Remember to read our section on legislation and startup business for further information.

Also remember in May 2020 are that any device used on humans is a ‘Medical Device’ and so it will be important to check that the CE testing is to “Medical CE” standards. Do not take the sales person advice on this! ask to see the certification and check the certification is legitimate, it is your responsibility!

For the sake of safety and treatment efficacy, the person providing treatment, regardless of whether they are a doctor, a nurse or mobile therapist should have

  • Laser/IPL Core of knowledge training
  • Suitable entry level qualifications
  • Product training for manufacturer, distributor or appointment body
